December 18 2008

Fixed the inner stems to the forms and started to shape them

December 16 2008

Mounted the forms today. Beginning to get a feel of the boat shape.

December 7 2008

Prior to mounting the forms on the strongback, I steamed and bent some cedarstrips for making the inner stems.

November 2008

The moulds are cut out from 12mm plywood and after leaving for 2 weeks in the garage are showing signs of dampness.

I purchased a roll of paper used for making dress making patterns and copied all the shapes from the plans onto individual pieces of paper.

Cut out the moulds with a jigsaw in the garden in the rain - that is why the paper looks so crinkled!
